Political Changes in the US and China and the effect on the Global Economy

07 June 2012, Nordea hosted a Danish-American and Danish-Chinese Business Forum partner event.

Danish-American and Danish-Chinese Business Forum had co-arranged the event in order to put focus on the significant political changes that will happen in both the United States and China during 2012. There were over 50 participants at the meeting, which was kindly hosted by Nordea.

Anders Svendsen and Johnny Bo Jakobsen, Chief Analysts at Nordea Markets introduced the audience to the economic developments in the U.S and China and their respective effect on the global economy.

Hereafter Keld Erik Brødsgaard, Professor and Director of Asia Research Centre at CBS and Niels Bjerre Poulsen, Associate Professor at the Center for American Studies at SDU introduced the participants to the forthcoming political changes in the U.S and China. Furthermore they gave their view on how political changes in the world’s two biggest economies could affect the global economy.

After a short break Torsten Jansen moderated a panel debate on the subject of the day. The panel consisted of Keld Erik Brødsgaard, Niels Bjerre Poulsen and Helge Pedersen, Global Chief Economist at Nordea. After the panel debate the participants had the opportunity for networking.
