Decoding the Chinese Consumer

17 January 2012, Danish-Chinese Business Forum’s Retail Working Group held its third meeting. The theme of the meeting was the ambitious but central theme of: Decoding the Chinese Consumers.

At the meeting Steen Sejer Elkjær-Hansen, Vice President Franchise and Retail Operations at Georg Jensen, gave valuable insights on how to reach the Chinese consumers with a Danish based product portfolio. Furthermore the group was introduced to Georg Jensen’s product and market strategies in China.

The second presentation came from Franklin Yao, CEO of the Shanghai based strategy consulting firm SmithStreetSolutions. Mr. Yao shared his insights on the Chinese consumer market and in particular on how western companies can market their products successfully to the Chinese consumers.

After the presentations the group had discussions on how to reach the Chinese consumers.
