Expo 2010

In connection with EXPO 2010 in Shanghai Danish-Chinese Business Forum arranged a number of seminars at the national Danish pavilion, where His Royal Highness the Prince Consort of Denmark participated as the organisation’s patron.

Leading Danish and Chinese researchers and companies contributed with their knowledge within areas such as renewable energy, food safety, and life long learning and shared their perspectives of future research cooperation in these areas.

Members of Danish-Chinese Business Forum had invited important Chinese stakeholders and partners to take part in the seminars, which extended over 3 days from 26 to 28 September 2010. The purpose of these events was to strengthen the cooperation between the different scientific areas, which will be of mutual benefit for Denmark and China.

In connection with the food safety seminar Mr. Cao Yong from FOSS China was awarded The Diploma of the Danish Export Association and His Royal Highness Prince Henrik's Medal of Honour in recognition of his excellent performance and contribution to more than doubling of the company’s turnover.

The seminars also set the stage for two signing ceremonies. China Southern Power Grid and Danish Energy Agency signed an agreement with the purpose of strengthening the development of smart grids and promoting the implementation of renewable energy in both Denmark and China. Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI) and University of Copenhagen also signed an agreement, and this new partnership is meant to reinforce the cooperation within genetic research and to contribute to the intensification and specialisation of Danish-Chinese research projects.
