Denmark’s Commissioner General to EXPO 2010 in Shanghai, Former Danish Ambassador to China, Mr. Christopher Bo Bramsen, has published a book called “Hans Chri¬stian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid – from Fairy Tale to National Monument.”  Besides re-telling Andersen’s much loved fairy tale “The Little Mermaid,” the book recounts how the fairy tale came about and how it has since inspired artists around the world, leaving its mark on art, music, ballet, opera and cartoons alike.

The statue of the Little Mermaid will be an important part of the Danish Pavi¬lion at the World Exposition in Shanghai. Considering the general interest China has in Hans Christian Andersen and his fairy tales, the book will be a valuable gift item to local business partners and local authorities in China during Expo 2010 and beyond.

The book was published by Gad’s Publishing House in Copenhagen, on 24 February 2010, in Danish and in English, and in March 2010 a Chinese version appeared in Shanghai. Mr. Christopher Bo Bramsen has cooperated with the former Chinese ambassador to Denmark, Zhen Jianguo, on the translation of the book into Chinese.

All three language versions are appearing in the same format of high quality, hard cover, 144 pages and featuring 150 illustrations. Mr. Bramsen is kindly offering the book at a special rate to members of Danish-Chinese Business Forum. The offer is valid for purchases of minimum 10 books at the following rates:
