The World Exposition in Shanghai in 2010 provides a valuable opportunity to invite one’s Chinese business relations to participate in tailored events at the meeting and business event area in the Danish pavilion. This has been made possible because Danish-Chinese Business Forum and our partner, the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China, have reserved the facilities for a number of dates in June, August, and September 2010, where our members will be given a chance to book them. The Patron of Danish-Chinese Business Forum, HRH the Prince Consort, will be present at selected special events in the last week of August 2010.
By inviting one's Chinese partners, customers, governmental contacts, employees and other business relations to events at the Danish pavilion one will have a possibility of showing one’s guests the best of Danish lifestyle, innovation and sustainable solutions. At the same time, our member companies can organise business events in cooperation with other companies or individually. These events can be coupled with lunches/dinners and cultural events, such as musical performances.
The business facilities will allow to organise meetings, receptions, seminars, etc., with topics related to one’s activities and interests in China. The meeting and business event area will be situated under a pool where the Little Mermaid will be located. The business area measures 117m2 and will hold a maximum capacity of 100 persons for dinner settings and 120 persons for conferences and receptions.
The events can take point of departure in the themes listed below, but you are welcome to come forward with suggestions for other themes of interest. Members of Danish-Chinese Business Forum will shortly receive a registrations form which will allow them to choose event types and themes of interest, as well as suitable dates for their activities.

The Danish pavilion is designed as a double spiral taking the visitors from the ground and through two curves up to a level of 20 metres and down again. The Little Mermaid will be located in the centre of the construction in a pool, and visitors will be able to get onto a city bike and take a ride through the pavilion to get an idea of what it is like to bike in a Danish city. The steel of the facade is perforated in a pattern that creates the silhouette of a Danish metropolis, and from the outside silhouettes of cyclists and pedestrians will be visible as they pass by.
Events requiring a larger venue than the business facilities at the Danish pavilion can offer can make use of the 5,800m2 Nordic house outside the official Expo area. This complementary venue has been realised through cooperation between the Nordic Consulates in Shanghai and the Nordic Centre at Fudan University. As Consul General, Susanne Hyldelund has clarified in the previous article this venue will offer a long-term promotional platform for larger events in Shanghai from 15 April to 31 October 2010.
