Trade between Denmark and China is a two way street. Growth in Denmark’s export to China is not as high as China’s export growth to Denmark. This is due to several reasons;
(1) The strength of the Danish currency.
(2) More Danish companies are sourcing products in China, and /or producing in China in order to be more competitive in the international market. This is also one of the reasons for expanding import to China.

Furthermore, growth in the import of textiles has been increased significantly. According to ‘Danmarks Statistik’ in 2006, Articles of Apparel and Clothing Accessories as well as Telecommunications and Sound Recording and Reproducing Apparatus and Equipment are the two most expanding categories among others (32% of the total imports from China).

Although the China’s export to Denmark is three times larger than the Denmark’s trade to China. The total amount of trade between China and Denmark is increasing in the last 10 years. And it is a reflection of the stable economics growth of the two countries.
